Primal Scream Singer Bobby Gillespie Injured in Stage Fall

Primal Scream were forced to cut their set at Switzerland's Caribana Festival Thursday night short after singer Bobby Gillespie slipped off a speaker stack and fell seven feet.

Gillespie had to be stretchered off the stage and hospitalized following the incident, which occurred 40 minutes into the band's set. The singer reportedly suffered minor back injures in the fall, NME reports.

"Thanks everyone who has asked about Bobby," the band tweeted. "We're waiting for more news, but hoping to be back on the road as soon as we get the all clear." They have not posted an update on Gillespie's condition.

A representative for Gillespie directed inquiries to the band's Twitter page.

Primal Scream are currently on the road in support of their latest LP Chaosmosis. The band's next concert is scheduled for June 17th, giving Gillespie around two weeks to recover.

Chaosmosis, Primal Scream's 11th studio album, arrived in March with an all-star guest list, as artists like Sky Ferreira, Haim, Peter Bjorn & John, Cats Eyes' Rachel Zeffira, guitarist Jason Falkner and more contributed to the Scottish rockers' follow-up to 2013's More Light.
