Kacey Musgraves to 4/20 Concertgoers: 'Come Get Weird'

Whoever claimed that pot smokers were lazy may need to take a long look at fans of Kacey Musgraves. The singer-songwriter, who has made reference to marijuana in more than one of her songs, recently sold out an April 20th show in Denver shortly after it was announced on April 1st.

The event, held in the Mile High City on what is widely known as an unofficial smokers' holiday, was no April Fools' joke on Musgraves' part. "Come get weird," read a Facebook post announcing the show at the Bluebird Theater in the weed-legal state's capital, accompanied by the strains of "High Time" from her 2015 album Pageant Material.

Though Musgraves' advice to "roll up a joint" in "Follow Your Arrow" proved to be a little too risqué for the conservative end of country radio, the singer hasn't backed away from making mention of the substance in song and other places. In honor of April 20th, she also has "It's High Time" t-shirts for sale in her online store, the purchase of which gets the buyer hemp rolling papers as a bonus.

Musgraves spent the early part of this year headlining her Country & Western Rhinestone Revue and will be back in Nashville for a special show during Tin Pan South with collaborators Shane McAnally and Josh Osborne on April 9th. Additionally, she will perform as part of Zac Brown's Southern Ground & Food Festival in Charleston, S.C., on April 17th, and will serve as the opening act for George Strait's return to the stage April 22nd and 23rd in Las Vegas.

A special 4/20 show is gonna happen in Denver ON 4/20! Tickets on sale now at axs.com $20 Come get weird! [this isn't an April Fool's!]
