Halsey debuted her song "Castle" live at the 2016 MTV Movie Awards. The track appears on the soundtrack for The Huntsman: Winter's War starring Charlize Theron and Chris Hemsworth as well as the singer's debut album Badlands.
Backed by a booming orchestra, Halsey delivered the thundering, ominous pop cut on a fantastical stage set up and amidst flurries of faux snow, which added a chilly touch to the otherwise warm proceedings in Los Angeles.
"This will be the first time I perform 'Castle,'" Halsey said in a statement prior to the show. "This song is so important to me as a woman; it's about not letting anything get in your way."
Halsey released Badlands last August, and the full-length album followed her debut EP Room 93 from 2014. Following her debut, Halsey toured with Imagine Dragons and the Weeknd and appeared on Justin Bieber's album Purpose.
