See Garth Brooks Duet With Carrie Underwood's Husband

When Carrie Underwood was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry nearly eight years ago, fellow Oklahoma native Garth Brooks was the one doing the honors. And though Underwood is a longtime fan, her husband Mike Fisher has ended up being the first of the pair to sing with the superstar entertainer.

Back in January, Underwood filmed Fisher — a professional hockey player for the Nashville Predators — singing Brooks' "The River" while on a drive. She posted the clip to Instagram with the caption, "#IalwayswantedtomarryGarth @mfisher1212 duet coming soon." Brooks responded by posting the video, saying, Bro, that is AWESOME! I HAVE to call you out after that...Nashville is the last city on the American leg of the World Tour...You and me, on stage, The River. You in? love you pal, g."

Though Underwood feigned jealousy and swore Fisher would never get to sing with Brooks before she did, it happened anyway. Yesterday, Underwood posted an Instagram video of Brooks holding a guitar and addressing her. "I'm going to send this out to my sweetheart, my girlfriend, Carrie Underwood. Carrie, little song for you," he says, launching into "The River." The camera pans left and Fisher is there to join him, a little timidly at first and with growing confidence as they reach the chorus. Watch it below.

The matter may not yet be settled between Underwood and Fisher. Her Instagram post notes, "As payback, I think I'll try to see if Wayne Gretzky wants to play a hockey game sometime!"

Even so, it's hard to imagine when Underwood might have the time. She's currently on her Storyteller Tour, which now has dates scheduled through the end of November 2016.
