Joey + Rory's 'Hymns' Album Is Best-Seller: The Ram Report

Joey Feek had just undergone her first cancer surgery when she and husband Rory began recording an album full of Christian songs she grew up singing. And while the treatments continued — chemotherapy, radiation, more surgery — so did the music. Joey + Rory's Hymns That Are Important to Us was a labor of love that was made in the midst of Feek's excruciating cancer battle that had her traveling between Nashville, Chicago and Atlanta for treatments.

"Sometimes in the evenings I would get out a microphone, and my wife sang the vocals in our hotel room because she wanted to see this record happen," Rory recalls. "She did her vocals where she could – in hotel rooms, at our house, wherever and whenever she felt up to singing."

Hymns was released February 12th and debuted atop both the country and Christian album charts. It hasn't left the Top 10 of Billboard's all-genre album chart since its release, and is now the best-selling Christian or gospel album of the year. It's also now the duo's best-selling album of their catalog, outselling 2008's The Life of a Song.

Joey Feek passed away on March 4th. She was just 40 years old.
