Luke Bryan Talks Stadiums and His 'Stacked Up' Touring Schedule

Anyone who needs to find Luke Bryan in 2016 should remember probably won't be at home.

Earlier this month, Bryan added a slew of dates to his upcoming Kill the Lights tour and will now be on the road for the better part of the year. Kicking off in February 18th in Evansville, Indiana, the trek currently wraps up October 29th in Detroit. Somewhere in between (April 3rd, to be exact) Bryan will co-host the Academy of Country Music Awards with Dierks Bentley.

"My take on touring is it's been so fun for me and that's just where my bread is buttered," he tells Rolling Stone Country. "I enjoy getting out there and being in front of the fans."

He knows that some people — including other artists — think he has a screw loose for having such a hectic touring schedule, but that’s the way he likes it.

“Everybody is like, ‘Wow, you’re doing 90-something dates again,'” says the superstar, who is currently entertaining the masses at his Crash My Playa event in Riviera Maya, Mexico. “For me, everything I’ve ever done has worked to make all this stuff happen, so I'm not going to start shaving dates away."

The Kill the Lights tour, which features guests Little Big Town and Dustin Lynch, will also hit five stadiums, including Chicago's Wrigley Field and Boston's Gillette Stadium.

"I want to get out there and be in front of as many people as I can and have fun," Bryant explains. "Stadiums are daunting, so it's amazing to do it."

Really, though, Bryan he sees his touring schedule by the simplest economic principles of supply-and-demand.

“As long as [fans] are out there doing it," he says, "I’m always going to have a pretty stacked up touring schedule.”
