Hear the Cadillac Three's Gritty, Greasy 'Graffiti'

Still in the midst of a sold-out European tour, the Cadillac Three are throwing their weight behind "Graffiti," a new single that blends the grit and grease of the band's blue-collar influences with the punch and polish of the Top 40 songs frontman Jaren Johnston has been writing for other artists.

There's a catch, though. "Graffiti" was actually written by bandmate Neil Mason, who teamed up with co-writers Corey Crowder and Luke Dick. Driven forward by arena-rock drums and Johnston's backwoods snarl, the song is a timely reminder that the Cadillac Three are a band of equals, not just a showcase for one of country music's most celebrated songwriters. (Listen to the song above.)

That said, Johnston — who, along with Mason and steel guitarist Kelby Ray, will follow his band's U.K. tour with nearly a month's worth of opening dates on Kip Moore's Wild Ones Tour — did enjoy a banner year in 2015, writing Number One singles for Frankie Ballard, Jake Owen and Keith Urban. With "Graffiti" already working its way into the playlists of American radio stations, though, the stage is finally set for the release of the Cadillac Three's long-awaited follow-up to their 2013 debut.
